1. Vehicle Safety & Crash-Tested Restraints

Allowing pets to roam freely inside a moving vehicle poses significant danger to both animal and passengers. In a 35 mph collision, an unrestrained 60 lb dog becomes a 2,700 lb projectile.

Always choose crash-tested harnesses rated by the Center for Pet Safety (CPS) or heavy-duty aluminum crates anchored directly to the vehicle's ISOFIX latch points.

2. Flight Compliance & Health Certificates

Airlines require strict documentation before accepting animals into cabin or cargo holds:

  • CVI (Certificate of Veterinary Inspection): Must be executed by an accredited veterinarian within 10 days of travel.
  • Temperature Thresholds: Cargo transport is suspended if tarmac temperatures fall below 45°F (7°C) or exceed 85°F (29°C).
  • Microchip Verification: ISO 11784/11785 compliant 15-digit microchips are mandatory for international border crossings.
